EGOLF stands for "European Group of Organisations for Fire Testing, Inspection and Certification". It is the main representative body for third party, independent and nationally recognized organizations involved at a European level in fire safety testing, inspection and certification activities. EGOLF activities are mainly centred on passive fire protection.
EGOLF members have a reputation throughout Europe for the quality of their services. All laboratories must have accreditation to EN ISO/IEC 17025 and, where relevant, EN ISO/IEC 17020 and EN ISO/IEC 17065. Attendance at EGOLF Harmonisation Courses for the key Euroclassification fire tests helps to ensure that all members carry out the tests in a consistent manner.
Members of EGOLF are recognised throughout Europe for the high quality of service which they offer and enjoy numerous benefits including access to an online Helpdesk Forum and participation in harmonisation courses, comparative testing and round robins.
EGOLF is a registered stakeholder of EA (European co-operation for Accreditation) and provides the secretariat for the Group of Notified Bodies - Fire Sector Group (SH02), where matters of attestation for CE marking under the CPR are discussed.
